If you would like to collaborate with Hunter Kidz Books, contact us below for more information. Ryan and his publishing team, Hunter Kidz Books, has been collaborating with Nationwide Children's Hospital of Columbus and many local churches in Central Ohio to bring his book to storefront to spread awareness for a disease that is personal and heartfelt to him. His mission of writing this book was to create a resource for families to relate to in a time where they may feel alone and helpless as they watch their child, sibling, or grandchild live with CHD.

He left intentional fill-in-the-blanks so that families could insert their own children's names to make the story personalized. Although the story is very personal to him, Ryan wrote the book in a way that other families could make it personal to their own CHD journey. 'Are You Listening' was based off the true story of Ryan's son, Roman. With the support of loved ones, and most importantly, their faith, Ryan and Elizabeth have taken one of their greatest tragedies as parents and turned it into their testimony as they are helping so many other families cope with the many ups and downs the life of living with a CHD child can bring as they share their story. The news swept them off their feet and rocked their world. His wife had a 'normal' and healthy pregnancy. Roman's diagnosis wasn't discovered until a couple hours after his birth. His youngest son, Roman, was born with a congenital heart defect known as Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA).
